Conceptual richness and critical engagement of Asim Đelilović’s art go beyond his primary vocation of product designer. His artworks show suggestively the complexity and functioning of the image in the process of creating the ideological imperatives and shaping the social relations, as well as the critical power of artistic image in considering the social and ethical issues. Visuality is one of the most important modes of production of cultural values, and our ideas about what is worth seeing are rooted in social and cultural history. The combinations of iconographic elements and visual codes in the works of Asim Đelilović, as well as the combinations of image and words, create the “image-text” that brings about the concurrence of ethics and aesthetics.
